Only one came up...*sigh*

So, only one of my nasturtiums has come up (it has now been 12 days)...and none of my peppers. I think I was right, my house has been too cold and I think I planted them a bit too deep. My inexperience is definitely showing. Well...it was a nice warm day today and I turned the thermostat up and I have started some more. Hopefully with more success.

I don't feel too frustrated yet, but the warm sunny weather today probably helped.

I'm still learning myself, but I have read that peppers are extremely sensitive to temperature. Using only warm water is supposed to help. You can also buy a mat to put under your seed trays that keeps them nice and toasty. Lee Valley tools sells one that I've been told is good. Some people find putting the trays on top of the fridge is helpful.

I have also read about the temperature sensitivity of peppers...that's why I am pretty sure it was too cool in my house. Thanks for the advice, I am going to plant a few more and try them on top of my fridge. Warm water is a good idea too...thanks!
